candlelit soma ritual
An invitation for relaxation and rejuvenation in the soothing light of candles.
A holistic and restorative movement practice for all levels that aims to calm and awaken the body and mind.

This ritual will be a journey through a whole-body movement, pranayama, and facial massage. We will also access our meridian channels through gentle stretches and we will tap into some acupressure points for self-care.
The class moves at a slow comfortable pace and aims to quiet the mind, reinforce our focus within, and alleviate any discomforts.

The place were we will merge the two ancient healing arts of yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine.
A yoga class for your individual needs, based on your goals and current state. Through observation of your posture and movement, we will create an appropriate sequence of pranayama, asana, and acupressure points as needed.

We will start with pranayama to free and focus the mind, and then we will continue with the Official Meridian Yoga Sequence, an educational and therapeutic sequence created by Rose Erin Vaughn of Science of the Self. It is a practice for all levels that will give you a sense of the meridians while assisting the healing of musculoskeletal ailments and traumas, and promoting the well-being of your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual body.

Together we will create a practice that will help you cultivate the feeling of self-care, self-awareness, and compassion.

pranayama

A pathway to strengthen the connection of body & mind.
Pranayama uses the breath to direct and expand the flow of prana in our energy channels. By developing a practice, our breathing and bodily function will improve, and we will clear and calm the mind.
Swami Satyananda Saraswati describes the techniques as providing:
“…the method whereby the life force [prana] can be activated or regulated in order to go beyond one’s normal boundaries or limitations and attain a higher state of vibratory energy and awareness.”

“When we practice pranayama the veil is gradually drawn away from the mind and there is growing clarity. The mind becomes ready for deep meditation.”
